Parameters and iProperties in a Drawing

Hey all,

I'm creating an intelligent Template where a form pops up, the user inputs information into the form, and the information is propagated throughout the Title Block. For a variety of reasons, I'm using both Parameters and iProperties to accomplish this.

My current problem is this:

I have assigned *Value* to Parameter1. Parameter1 is then referenced under Author in iProperties as =<Parameter1>. In my Title Block, I created a Text Box, opened the Format Text dialog box, and selected Author from Format Text -> Type -> Properties - Model -> Property.

When I Finish Sketch and look at my Text Box, it says <Parameter1> instead of *Value*. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

  -Luke

Did you place a base view into the drawing?

If not it has no idea what Parameter 1 is...

Also if its Author just use <Author>  (shouldn't matter but why not)

Inventor's Drawing environment has limitations around using parameters as objects in text in the file.

Two things to remember...

1.  Parameters cannot be passed to iProperties without first being exported as such.

2.  Inventor does NOT allow drawing parameters to be exported.

So you can do this instead with an ilogic snippet...

You will just have to create dim variables for each one of these you want to do.
