Origin plane issues

I've reset the default settings on my origin planes for both the IPT and IAM templates so that XY is the "ground" plane with Z pointing up. This is consistent with almost every other software out there and with the right hand rule commonly used by mathematicians, physicists, engineers, etc. Inventor seems to be the only oddball that points "Y" up. The reason I care about this is because I will export models out for use in Simulation or to share with other clients, who inevitably always end up with a sideways model.

The issue I have now is when I create a new part, despite redefining the "top" and "front" planes, I have to manually reorient the model every single time I create a part. The model automatically orbits to Y-up as the starting position... even thoughI can see on the view cube that "top" is pointed to the side instead of up. If I click "home", then it orbits the way I want it.

How can I stop this behavior? Why is "home" not the default position for new part creation?

@johnsonshiueI agree with @Anonymous

It simply shouldn't work this way. I've added this to the Idea's Forum for Autodesk to take into consideration.

No, I've never had a situation where I wanted the origin planes to be visible. I would then have to shut off their visibility afterwards to declutter the part. It is simple enough to select an origin plane off of the browser without making them visible.

@johnsonshiueI didn't understand what you had said previously, but it just clicked. That seems to work. By having the visibility turned on prior to creating the sketch, the orientation of the view does not move. Interesting fix.

The solution until Autodesk does it differently in the coding is to turn on the visibility of the origin planes in the template or to turn them on prior to creating the 2d sketch in each individual drawing.

Thank you.

edit: I find it easier to turn off the visibility than to reorient the view

Than just do that. There are 22 posts on the topic which not even worth to think about.

Granted - Autodesk Inventor team managed to ruin the behavior of the program on part creation by introducing that unneeded rotation in the graphic window.  They claim - it is for "ease to understand  the program by new users". But if you work with the software long enough - upon activating a new file - press F6, select an Origin Plane you need form the Origin folder and than - select the sketch icon on that very plane.

Cheers,

Igor.
