Offset tool in Sketch moves original geometry and fails to create offset.

Profile tool in Sketch is acting up on me, and I don't know why:

- Click Profile tool, and select the sketched curve.

- Offset it by some amount (just manual placement, no number entered). The preview looks like what I want, ok good.

- Click to place the offset curve.

- Original curve moves, and the offset line never appears. I get no warning messages.

Part file is attached.

I also tried it after fully dimensioning&constraining the original sketch. The original sketch remained in place, but the offset lines still don't appear.

I also tried typing in a number for the dimension. For a fraction of a second, it shows the correctly-offset line, but then it changes it to a reference dimension of (0.00).

So it's putting in the "offset" lines, but putting them directly on top of the original sketch. Why??

I'm not certain, but is this imported geometry, or did you sketch it? But if I redraw above it, it offsets fine.

I sketched it from scratch on an empty part, nothing imported or projected.

When you offset Right-Click and make sure constrained offset is not set. It will work, but the draw  back is constraints are not created when doing this.

see below, I sketched in your part, but had no issues with the offset, wonder if it is how you sketched it:

Ok. Handy, I didn't know that option was hiding there.

...

...

I think I see what was doing it now. There's a perpendicular constraint between the bottom of the arc and the horizontal line there.

Inventor was trying to maintain that constraint, which forced the "offset" shape to have only one solution.

Huh. I would've thought there would be been a warning or notification at some point, especially when I typed in an offset of 1 inch, and it instead overrode it and effectively said "Ok, here's a reference dimension of your offset of 0.00."
