Nesting & CAM modules

Hi everyone,
I write to the next questions about Inventor 2020 Nesting and CAM modules.

1) Nesting: I working on a furniture project, creating the respective material, properties and Nesting configuration. When reviewing the Process Material Library window, the composite tab does not appear. Is it normal that it doesn't appear or is it another work configuration?

2) CAM: In the same furniture project, I have used cutting tools such as 2D contour. When making the cuts, the radius is generated in the corners by the tool used, one recommendation they gave me was to work with REST milling configuration and eliminate this material. The question is, also from changing the tool to a smaller diameter, what is the correct configuration to be able to execute this termination this area?

Thank you very much!

Hi @apintocappello ,

The "composites" tab in Process Material Library is relevant only if you are using TruComposites. Please ignore it for your workflow involving nesting of furniture parts. Thanks,

You will always have a radius in the corners due to round tools but you can begin the pockets with a much larger roughing tool and then mill our more of the corner radius by simply creating a new operation, selecting the appropriate tool and setting any speed,etc.. parameters and then on the geometry tab select the geometry, check the rest machining option and set the "tool diameter" field in the rest machining section to the diameter of the roughing tool used previously.  Set all other offsets/passes/linking,etc.. options as necessary.

The preview of that operation should just show the new tool removing any corner material that it can access with the new smaller diameter.
