Negative Dimension

Good morning I'm using Inventor 2016, I have a reducer that you can choose vertical and horizontal offsets, but I can make it work whit negative numbers, any body know who can i make it work with negative numbers.

Nope.. Inventor does not support negative numbers AFAIK..

 

Do you really need that though? Simply flip the piece upside down.. A 5 vertical is identical to a -5 vertical

When you go out to the shop floor and pick on from parts bin - how do you tell them apart?

Hi @Jose_Merino,

 

Typically when we use ilogic and need to work with negative dimensions we avoid doing so in a sketch because going past zero can cause the sketch to loose direction. Instead what we do is create work planes (offset or angular depending upon the need)  and then project those planes into the sketch. Then drive the workplane parameter with the ilogic.
