Navisworks model showing supressed features

Hi,

At the moment I'm working on a model in Inventor which should be exported to a Navisworks Model. *Note: I'm using the Factory Design Suite for this project. Making a Navisworks model of it works fine.

But the Navisworks model shows some features which are suppressed in the Inventor model.
Does someone know why this happens and how to solve this problem?

- Pictures of both models are attached. The Inventor model has the orange box which shows up suppressed, the same goes for the Side walls of the conveyor.

Is it consistently showing supressed features or does unsuppress/resuprress and reload work?

Hi! Is it possible Navisworks open or import Inventor assembly with LOD:Master active?

Many thanks!

I am not sure what you mean? Cant choose anything when opening a Inventor assembly (.iam) in Navisworks

It is consistently showing the supressed features. Unsuppressing/resupressing the features doesnt quite work the same as to how it works in Inventor. Navisworks doesnt use features in it's models. So there is something going on when converting the models from inventor to Navisworks.
I have tried opening the inventor model from Navisworks (Open > .iam )
And converting the model using the factory Desing Utilities.

I believe something is happening with the conversion from .iam to .nwc

Okay, I got the problem narrowed down to the views which are created in the model, Navisworks uses the Master view, which isn't the view which I want to be used. Is there a fix for this ?

There is option in the Navisworks:

Options > File Readers > Inventor > Load Assembly with last active representation

Check it on, then use Navisworks open the inventor file.

Is this the option you need?

Thanks

Kenny

Kenny thanks for your answer,

I believe my problem is a bit more complex

I use (our own) factory design assets. In these assets some bodies are hidden (NOTE: not suppressed). I believe this is the reason why when i open the model in navisworks it show the hidden bodies. It is so much work to make iParts for all the assets used (something to keep in mind next time though). So I am wondering if there is another workaround for my problem

Edit: I can't seem to find out how or by what rule some bodies get hidden in the models. But when I edit the parameters to be false (hiding the bodies) it changes the visibility of the features or bodies.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Would you please send us the model of this asset?  mickey.li@autodesk.com. And would you please record a screen cast to describe this issue?

We have System Asset Conveyor in System Assets, that use suppressed to control moto location. Were you using the same iLogic rule to control the visibility of your assets feature? Thank you.
