Multiple section view

My question is about making a sophisticated section view that consists of multiple cuts from the same part resulting in a single view.

A normal section view would be done in the following manner:

But instead I would like to add a second (or third) section line in order to make another cut at a different angle.

I recreated the desired cut in a 3d part to show what I would like to accomplish within a single section view:

Does anyone know if something like this is possible in a .idw section view?

Thanks in advance.

You can create a section view like that, but you cannot then project it to an isometric, at least not by any means that I have discovered.  I have not figured out the conditions required to allow a section view to be projected, but your simpler one is possible, the more complex one-- not.

Four years later-- "how" what?  How to create the simpler 1/4 section view?  Create the section view as usual, then project it to isometric.

The section view will give you a flat projection like this.

If you draw a sketch on it.

Use breakout

Then project this you can get what you want. You may have to experiment with the angle the first view is at and if you don't want that view hide it off the side of the page.

The other way is to just do a cut in the modelling environment and have it assigned to a model state so you only show it in one view.

Thank you, the second model state method worked well for my purposes
