Multiple Frame Generator assemblies / configurations in one model ??

Is it possible to create multiple Frame Generator assemblies within one main assembly, instead of just (1) main FG assembly ??

Ex.  I have an assembly where the exterior frame components are standard, but the interior members have several different configurations.  I would like to create completely independent FG files (including both the FRAME and SKELETON files) and suppress/unsuppress each FG configuration using ilogic based on the design requirements. 

eg. If  CONFIGURATION_A is TRUE,  unsuppress  CONFIG_A  and  suppress  CONFIG_B, CONFIG_C.  If CONFIGURATION_B is TRUE,  suppress  CONFIG_A, unsuppress  CONFIG_B, suppress CONFIG_C,  etc,  etc

Currently, I think I have to add every configuration under (1) single FG assembly and suppress/unsuppress the individual parts/members based on the design requirements.

Any assistance would be appreciated ...

I'm not sure if I've understood you correctly but you can create a single FG model and demote FG members into there own FG sub-assembly model within the FG. You can then control the visibility/suppression of each sub-assembly rather than each member if that is what you need.

Never thought of doing it that way.

I'm going to give it a try today and see if it gets me what I wanted.

Just remember to use the FG demote function as shown in the attached screenshot

Hi Doug,

I don't believe iPart/iAssembly is the solution here. The only feasible solution is to use iLogic + iLogic Design Copy (Vault Copy Design or Design Assistant). At the moment, Inventor cannot use one model to represent different geometric states at the same time.
