Multiple Document Recognition with Feature Recognition Add-In

I like the functionality of Feature Recognition extra Add-In for Inventor (agree that it worth integrating to the core) but I don't understand how 'Multiple Document Recognition' works

The FRHelp.chm located at "%AppData%\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\Autodesk FeatureRecognition.bundle\Contents\Resources\Help\" contains
'Multiple Document Recognition' section:

In Feature Recognition, you can open multiple Boundary Representation Documents and perform feature recognition on each document at the same time. This is similar to opening multiple part documents and creating Inventor features in these documents at the same time.

I'd like to know what is 'Boundary Representation Document' (Part model with BaseBody, right) and what exactly should I do to open/recognize more then one Document "at the same time"?

Dear @YuhanZhang, maybe you can comment?

Hi @Maxim-CADman77 ,

For this fucntion I validated it here again, and seems it does not work very well when you try to recognize features for multiple documents with base features open. I recommend to do the feature recognition with only one document open each time.

You answer sounds like you at least know how user is supposed to call it 🙂
Hope it either would be redesigned to work proper or removed completely from next releasee (with appropriate edits to the help).

Thanks @Maxim-CADman77 for the feedback, I would like to remove it next version to avoid confusion.

BTW, could you, please, help to understand better the Add-In functionality?

Let say, I would like to recognize the geometry like FlyWheel part from the Sample files - Assemblies - Engine MKII (see the .STP file attached).

I can mostly do it in the following order:
1. Recognize 3 full-circle chamfers ('Chamfer Feature' button, one by one)
2. Recognize tooth-chamfers 'Automatic..' (only Chamfer), with further Combine (I like this feature but would rather prefer there be window select mode available when in <single feature button> mode)
3. Recognize 4 small holes ('Hole Feature' button, one by one) with further select and recognize as Circular Pattern (another great feature)
4. Recognize 2 Fillets ('Fillet Feature' button)
5. Recognize central hole ('Revolve Feature' button, Cut)
6. Recognize two side circular cuts ('Extrude feature' button) with further convert to Revolve (?haven't found how directly recognize as Revolve?)
7. Create all recognized features (Finish, see the .IPT attached)

I wonder how do I recognize those left Teeth as Circular Pattern of Extrude Features on Cylinder WorkPiece?

It can either recognize it as one Extrude, or like Circular pattern of Revolutions on the Star-like extrude:

PS:
I wonder are there any chances to get new Delete command to selected recognized feature (if result is mostly correct except just one of featurer)?
