Move center point of assembly

Hello everyone,

I have created an assembly file consisting of several parts. Now I want to do a FEM simulation with the Comsol to Inventor LiveLink. The system origin in Comsol is set to be the same as the center point of the assembly in Inventor. Now I want to change the center point of the assembly to the most central position of the assembly so that I can use this symmetry for creating a symmetric airbox in Comsol.

This boils down to the question: Is there a way to move the center point of the assembly? Keeping the center point and move the total assembly with respect to the center point would also be okay.

Can anyone help me out here?

Best regards,
Richard

Use appropriate assembly constraints to place at any desired location in 3D space.

Attach your assembly here if you can't figure it out.

Thanks a lot JDMather, that worked! I didn't know that the base planes and the base axes can also be used for setting constrains! With this I was able to set the components just as I wanted with respect to the center point!

For people that might look for the same thing, here's the solution: First, I have ungrounded the grounded part (reference part) in the assembly. Then, I used the constrains on this reference part, so that it was placed exactly as I wanted it. You can set constrains with the base planes (XY,XZ,YZ) and base axes (x,y,z) by clicking constrain --> choose desired constrain type --> click on the particular base plane or base axis in the model history on the left in the drop down list "Origin".
