Motion simulation with constraint suppress

Hi,

Inventor 2021.

I was wondering whether there's a possibility of simulating motion of parts where there's a point at which tangent surfaces separate without simulation breaking?

I have a cylindrical surface moving along angled flat surface. And it's all fine as long as tangency constraint is kept alive. At the point of separation the "drive constraint" fails.

Kind regards,

Tom

Hi,

there is transitional constraint.

Warning: it is quite instable

Warining: it' s not a simple enviroment

Thanks for reply.

I know there is. However those parts I have literally separate, so there's no continuity. And transitional constraint needs it.

I'm speaking of a situation in which parts at first are in tangent contact, then one slides on the other until it reaches a different surface on which it stops and the other part from the initial 2-part setup continues to move away separating from the set.

Unfortunately I can't share the files. Here's a rough idea

Environments >Dynamic Simulation.

Attach your assembly here. (Of course make up a dummy assembly that would exhibit the same behavior as your proprietary data.)
