Model tree symbol [o]

Thanks for the help.  I copied inventor 2023 files to a 2022 laptop.  I could not open the files until I updated the 2022 package on the laptop.  I now have the latest update for 2022 on my laptop. Now the files opens but I can't edit anything, there are no features or drawings under each part. This "[o]" symbol is next to each part. And inside each part in the tree is a folder called "model state master."

What am I looking at?

If you open Inventor files with the prior year version you can only see them as if they were a raw import (think of it like importing an STP file) without a feature list.
Without an image, I guess the symbols you are seeing might be for constrained/unconstrained, perhaps?
