Model State in Assembly Update

Here is what I'm trying to do (my explanation might not be very good here), please see the Screencast first so you will have a little better understanding of what Im trying to do:

Im taking various Model states from a ipt file and putting them in a single Assembly and creating a similar Model State so I can use the BOMs and other good stuff that you need to produce a drawing. I have all the individual parts that were derived from that ipt and use iLogic to activate the reference model state when that Model State is selected in the derived ipt file (hance the iLogic rule in the individual part). From there I take all the derived itp file and put them in an Assembly. And in that Assembly, I have exact same list of Model States. So when a Model State in the Assembly is Activated, the same Model States in the Individual file is activated. For some reason individually all the parts work, but when I put them in the assembly it does not update.

Have you linked all the model states from the assembly?

From my experience before 2022 and Model States, after adding subcomponents into an assembly and creating representations with the same name as the subcomponents, I still had to activate each of those in the main assembly and pick the corresponding ones on the level below of subcomponents... in order to "set" them linked. See if you can set these manually in the same way.

Hi @Gabriel_Watson , The Model States are 'Linked' as shown on the link you have shared. I think the reason they don't update is that those individual parts have an iLogic rule that does the physical changing of the that part. So when the model state in the main assembly changes, even though the Part's Model state changes, but it does not run the rule to actually update the physical body.

See me screencast of what I mean.
