Would there be a way to have 3A, 3B, 3C, and 3D on the same plane as 1, 2A and 2B ?

For some reason Inventor struggles with the fact they're diameters and won't let me change the annotation plane.

Hi @mgrenier1 ,

Yes, there is a way to align 3A, 3B, 3C, and 3D to the same plane as 1, 2A, and 2B.

When you are creating or editing the diameter annotations, before you left-click to finalize the placement, hold down the Shift key and select the specific plane you want the annotation to be parallel to.

Alternatively, while placing the annotation, you can press the Spacebar on your keyboard to cycle through the default annotation planes until the text aligns exactly how you need it.

Let me know if this solves it for you.

If the normal way to do it worked, I wouldn't be asking 😜

So yeah that did not work.

Hi! I could be wrong. I also believe it should be doable as Ihor mentioned here. Maybe there is a bug or a limitation, but it is not apparent to me. Please share the file here. I would like to understand the behavior better.

Many thanks!

This doesn't work for me also.  Very annoying.  I guess diameter annotations can't be placed on a work planes.

Same here, it is very annoying! Being forced to dimension a diameter in a plan view, whereas we only dimension the Overall Diameter there, and all others in a vertical section. Not possible with MBD.
