Greetings,
Our staff would like to be able to access the 'ITEM' (item #) property commonly used in the balloon preferences menu but in the view preferences menu. The purpose of this is to label each view with the same property as the balloon value. See images for detail
Thank you for your help,

Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community..
Item is a BOM thing and not an iProperty.. Meaning a part maybe a given item # in one sub-assembly and another item # in another assembly or model. I was thinking someone wrote some code a while back to extract it but I don't remember when.

I appreciate your input.
I do find it strange however that the software allows you to use the 'ITEM' value for balloons exclusively and not any generic text.
Hi! Indeed, it feels inconsistent. I guess the reason is about the annotation target. For balloons, the target is always a component definition and there must be an item number. For other general annotation object, the target is just geometry, which may not have item property. I believe there are ideas on Ideas Forum to support item in leader text or any annotation besides balloon.
Many thanks!
