Missing Inventor Shortcut on Desktop and Start Menu

hi

for school I need Inventor 2018. I installed the student version but when it's fully installed, no shortcut is shown on my desktop and there is no way to make one that works myself. I have installed and deinstalled inventor for a couple of times now but it just does not work. Can someone please help me with this?

thanks

Hello @Anonymous I see that you are visiting as a new member to the Inventor Forum.
Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

There are many ways to setup shortcuts, easiest I can think of can you find the program in the start menu?

FileLocation.png

RMB (Right Mouse Button) > Open File Location

ShortcutLocation.png

If it takes you to the shortcut screen, RMB > Open File Location

ShortcutCreate.png

RMB > Send to > Desktop (create shortcut)

Hope this helps!

@Anonymous can you run a search for inventor.exe then open file location?

FindShortcut.png

or just go through the windows explorer to the location:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2018\Bin

It should be within its own folder within the Start>Programs inside the "Autodesk" folder.

Inventor 2020, In-Cad, Simulation Mechanical

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file
