Mirror command will not execute.

I am working my way through the textbook Parametic Modeling with Autodesk Inventor. I am now learning Sheet Metal Designs (Chapter 12)

I have just successfully used the Face command to create a new feature. I would now like to reproduce that feature on my symmetric part using the Mirror Command.   I can select the Features button and select the new feature that I have just made... no problem. I then choose "continue" from the option menu... no problem. I then select the mirror plane, in this case the YZ Plane in the browser window... no problem. My mirrored feature shows right up exactly as expected, BUT... the OK button on the mirror feature dialog box remains shaded and I am unable to complete the feature!  I have tried every variation of order of the commands. Nothing seems to clear the OK button.  This is most likely a novice's error but good lord it is frustrating.  Help!

Hi PIERRELUGOSCH2922,

I didn't look at your file, but see if this link explains it:

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

No this is not the issue. I am mirroring a single very simple feature across the YZ plane.  Since I am working from a Tutorial book I have simply followed directions in getting my model to the present state and everything looks fine.  If you look at my file you will see I am trying to mirror "Face2". Very simple, it even seems to work but I am not able to "OK" my way to the next step!

Thanks for your efforts by the way.

Your second Face feature is a second Solid Body.  This is not correct.

Delete this feature (without deleting the sketch) (or Undo on your computer)

and then recreate it.

Make sure NOT selecting New Solid.

BTW - You should also install the Service Packs and Update on your version of Inventor.

Thank you Mr. Mather. That fixed it. I wonder why you can't mirror a solid body or what the difference is between a solid body and the face feature? I ended up with the solid body error because I was having trouble selecting the feature that I wanted in the Face command.  When I finish going through this book I do not feel as though I will have mastered Inventor.  I manage to get things working by trial and error without always understand the base cause. Can you recommend another tutorial book?
