Mini toolbar turned off

Currently using Inventor 2018 Pro.

I am not getting Mini toolbar.

Example.

While working on PART, clicking on any Face/Plane doesn't show me mini tool bar that includes an option to create a sketch.

I need to select "Start 2D Sketch" first and selecting the face or a plane to create one.

Not getting the tool bar that shown in attached image.

How can I turn it ON ?

I do not see a way to turn it off or on.  In the recent Inventor update, 2018.2, they added an enhancement to the 2D sketch mini-toolbar.  (see attachment) If you have not installed this update, try installing it to bring back the mini-toolbar.  If you already have, install it again.  You could also try to bring it back using the Inventor Reset Tool located in your installed applications for Inventor 2018.  After running this and it still does not appear, you might want to think about a re-installation.  Since this toolbar follows the cursor, when you select a face on an existing part is has to be on the screen because it appears to the upper right of your cursor position.

I mentioned it as wrong name as "Mini toolbar".
Now I realized Mini toolbar is that displays alongside of the main dialog box. So I have no trouble with Mini tool bar.

I think I got troubles relates to the cursor.

SOME OF THEM are as below.

1. In the part file if I click on the Plane, it doesn't pop-up the tool bar that allows me to start a new sketch.
(I need to select always "Start 2D sketch" from "3D Model" tab.)

2. Same for the existing sketch. I don't get the menu to edit a sketch while clicking on the sketch.
(I need to click sketch and find it in a browser. Now I double click on sketch in browser to modify.)

3. Moving over the curson on the lines while they are 2 lines overlapping in sketch doesn't pop-up the options to select one of them. I found the curson just moves a bit from lines automatically after 2-3 seconds instead of showing the dropdown to select one.

BACKGROUND.
I have already updated 2018.2 update. The same problem was before update and still the same.

I have been using Inventor (NOT PRO) for years and never got this issue.
It was a Windows 7 OS.

We got Inventor PRO last month and getting the issue from the day first we have installed.

It is installed on Windows 10 now.

So wondering is there anything I am missing to turn On/Off?
Or is this a proper installation problem?

Hi! Many thanks for the clarification! Indeed, John is correct. The contextural mini toolbar cannot be turned off. It is always enabled. Something is not working right on your machine. Have you tried using Inventor Reset Utility (All Programs -> Autodesk -> Autodesk Inventor Professional 2018 -> Tools -> Inventor Reset Utility)?

Thanks both of you.

I have done the process for RESET UTILITIES couple of times. Also updated to 2018.2 again.

Unfortunately it couldn't fix the problem.

Looks like all the problems I got relates to the Cursor.

As John mentioned about Re-Installing Inventor, is that the only option I got ??  

Still wondering if it is going to fix the problem.   😞

Hi,

We had one similar known issue: Can't show Fillet & Chamfer mini commands when selecting edge with Factory add-in loaded. But I could not reproduce your problem with all add-ins loaded.  Could you please help try unloading all add-ins from Tools> Add-Ins and restart Inventor? Please let's know if the issue still be reproduced.

Could you please help check whether you have Factory addin loaded?

If yes, there is one known issue that the contextual minitool bar will not show up with Factory addin.

If you unload the addin, you could see the contextual minitool bar.

Yes.

Factory : Layout/Simulation add-in loaded there.

But I am not able to change Loaded Behavior as it is grayed out as shown in attached image.

Is there any other way to unload it?

Please uncheck "Load Automatically" option for it then restart Inventor. If it does not work for your case still, please try unload all other add-ins in this way. Many thanks!

Unloading the Factory Add-in allowed the contextual mini toolbar to pop-up now.

Finally I got everything working again that relates to cursor.
