Midplane based rectangular pattern not generating correctly

I have recently noticed on a number of my parts that midplane based rectangular patterns are not generating correctly. This has only occurred since the most recent 2022 update and was generating correctly prior to this.

Rather than evenly distributing the feature/solid out from the center, the pattern is being created as if I have selected a single direction. The pattern is previewing correctly, however does not generate like this. Please see the screen shots of the preview and the generated pattern. Note that this only happens when patterning a solid body in a part. When patterning a feature or within an assembly, it works correctly.

Has anyone else come across this issue? and/or have anyways of fixing it?

I noticed in the latest release notes that this issue or a similar one had been noted, but installing the latest update seems to be when this issue has appeared. Maybe it is a bug?

Any assistance here will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Folks,

The workaround is to edit the pattern and change the Compute Method (expand the dialog) to Optimized. This is a bug. It should be fixed in the next 2023.2.x update. The original issue Ivan mentioned in the other thread will be unfixed. The full fix will be available in the new release.

Many thanks!

I am working with Inventor 2022 not 2023. Will this be in the next update for 2022 also? @johnsonshiue

Hi Aaron,

Yes, it will be rolled back in 2022.4.x also. If you cannot wait for the fix, you may want to uninstall 2022.4 update. I am very sorry for the trouble.

Many thanks!
