I temporarily use a 32bit processor and 4GB RAM (but it only can access 3GB [what's interesting, becouse I known that it only should able to 2GB]) and an Inventor 2015 Pro.

If I edit a bigger assembly, and it's drawing, at the right bottom corner (memory status bar) it's turn into yellow and red quickly.
When it's yellow and red, the hotkeys, even the Ctrl+O and Ctrl+S is blocked, and sometimes it can be frustrating.
How can I unlock it, and how can I extend the range of memory, what Inventor can use?

Hi,

There might be a couple of reason you can only use 3GB of memory.

Firstly if you computer is old it is possible that the BIOs does not support that amount of memory.

It is also possible that your graphics card is using shared memory and has reserved the reset to ensure good graphics perrformance.

I have an old laptop that shows 3.25GB avaialble in the operating system. The BIOS supports 3.5GB and the rest is used by the graphics card.

If you are running out of memory there might not be much you can do apart from using a more powerful computer. You can check what else is running and make sure no other programs are hogging RAM.

4 GB is the maximum memory space that can be addressed by a 32-bit system, and this space has to be shared by the operating system, graphics address space (even if it's not actually using the system RAM, it's still occupying addresses that can't be used for anything else), other hardware that requires memory addresses, and applications (Inventor, for instance).  The only way out of this is a 64-bit system.

If I see it from closer, there is 3,25GB available.
I noticed, that it isn't depends on, that am I use other programs, if just Inventor runs, it crashes too.
I think, there is a limit for Inventor, maybe 1GB of RAM, and if it fills, sadly the Send Report window appears.
I looked all of the settings, and I haven't find that limit to extend (for example to 1,5-2GB of that 3,25).
Maybe it's just at the 32 bit versions.

Thanks for answer, the new computer will be the solution.
