Measure tool - still unable to 'snap' to quadrant??

Say if I need to measure to the quadrant of a radius, do I really have to place a workpoint to measure too?

How comes the workpoint tool will 'snap' to the quadrant and in the sketch environment I can also 'snap' my dimension to the same quadrant, yet the measure tool won't see it.
Seems like a major shortcoming to me.....

See attached for a very simple example.

I might be behind the times, here, using IV9SP4, but i was frustrated by the same prblem, and not being able to measure clearances between non-parallel shafts, etc, so I downloaded
and installed "TheRuler" by Nathan Rutman (sorry, no link...).

This does all you could ask and more...

That is annoying, isn't it?

Thanks for the replies & for the link Teun.

I've found various posts regarding the 'usefulness' of the measure tool, most going back over two or more years ago.

You would have thought it would have had an overhaul by now, eh?
