Make copy of object - need help

Inventor 2021
I am in the process of making a basic model, which will subsequently be a template for 5 other models, which, based on the template, will have their own unique design.

Yes, I can use Assemble, but I would like all 5 models to be in the same *.ipt as 5 solid bodies.

I have tried with "3D Model" - "Modify" - "Copy Object" , but couldn't get it to work.

I'm not sure I am following you, but can you derive the parts into a single part?

Start a new part file > Manage Tab > Derive > Choose the part

Model them in same ipt.

What problem do you have when they're in Assembly?

Hi! I think you would like to be able to "copy bodies with features." Inventor does not have a workflow to do that since a feature may operate on multiple solid bodies. You may try copy features and paste them to planes. Another approach is to simply save the part as a different file. So that they are two independent parts.

ModelState, iPart or derive.

ModelSate and iPart would be best.

Derive require precise planning of common features.

Since the OP is using Inventor 2021, Model States is not an option.  But I think iParts should do the job.  This will allow for parameter changes and also for feature suppression.
