I've got an issue with loft, which wasn't occuring up until slight modification of a part

Can I somehow recover/fix/work around it?

It took some figuring out,but it is mostly done.

Basically what I had to do is loft the 3D rails for tubes then work from the resulting smooth surface.

(You could add at least some minimal explanation for others that happen upon this thread)

Am I right in assuming the stripes are normal and can't be helped?

Here is another version of that part. Created without using Loft. IV2010 files.

Cheers,

Igor.

It looks like you've made changes in your Reference.ipt. If I'm updating your last file with the reference, I'm getting back the geometry shown in my picture above.

Explanations: The best way is moving step by step through the browser tree, and looking at the intermediate results.

Stripes can't be made invisible in visible edge mode.

I'm sorry, but with the final part I've arrived with would be rather hard to use your technique. It's always good to see a different approach though, thanks!

Thank you for your help. It means a lot - I'd probably would still be frustrated trying to make that previous loft work and now i've learned a new, versatile way to solve some of the issues I come up against!
