Loft preview works but actual loft fails? Why would this happen?

3D Sketch2: Problems occurred while building this 3D Sketch
Loft1: Could not build this Loft
The input sections resulted in the creation of a non-manifold solid. Use Edit Sketch or Edit Feature to change the feature definition. Use the Surface option if a sheet body is acceptable.

In this case acting with separate surfaces seems the way to go (2018 IPT in Zip - will we ever get rid of this again?)

What does acting with separate surfaces mean?

Loft can be done in two ways:

- Lofting of closed profiles -> Result is in most cases a solid body, but can be  selcted as open surfaces, too

- Lofting of open profiles (only edge combinations) -> Result is a surface

In your case the solid loft was not useful because of bad point relationships in automatic mapping. Therefore I've used some separate surface lofts.

I think I see what you're saying, I should go from edge to edge instead of surface to surface. However, I opened your file and, as far as I could tell, nothing was different. What did you change?
