Loads and Constraints become unselectable in Stress Analysis

Hi everyone,

In Inventor Stress Analysis, I sometimes lose the ability to select anything under the Loads or Constraints sections in the Model Browser. Right-clicking gives only the generic context menu, while other sections like Bodies, Materials, Contacts, Mesh, and Results still work normally.

Double-Clicking in the model tree or clicking in the graphics window doesn’t fix it — it seems the browser and model get out of sync. Restarting Inventor restores functionality, and sometimes it comes back on its own, but I haven’t found a cause or pattern.

Has anyone else seen this or found a way to refresh the Stress Analysis environment without restarting Inventor?

Thanks!

Hi! If you have Data Exchange Add-In loaded, please unload it when you need to edit Inventor files. There are known issues that are caused by the Add-In. Another possibility is the browser panel getting out-of-sync. The right-click context menu shown in the picture should be in Model tab, not Analysis tab.

Many thanks!

Thank you for your insights.

Data Exchange is not required and is not installed; at least, I can't find it in the Add-ins Manager.

I'm unsure where to find information about restoring the browser when out of sync. I did some googling without finding much help.

If I get this issue again, I'll report back.

Hi! Please share the ipt file that exhibits the behavior here. It looks like a browser panel corruption to me.

Many thanks!
