Line creation not snapping with view lines, points, etc, at drawing view sketch

Hey there,

I'm working on a drawing for a part already designed in 3D. In the drawing I have to create several views and perform some sketches on them. I have Inventor 2017 and I've been working with it for years and never had this problem.

When creating a sketch into a drawing view seems like if it does not recognise the lines from the view so also it does not snap to midpoints, endpoints, centers, etc when creating new object (lines, splines, etc). Manual projection works.

Hi

The geometry must be projected.

You mean the geometry must be projected manually? If this is your answer, it is not true. As said, I have been working with this exact Inventor version at this exact pc station for years and it is always able to detect points by indicating with the green pointer.

Is the setting set? Does this snip help?

I have used every version of Inventor since 2002 (except for Inventor 7), and I have never been able to use geometry in a drawing view sketch without first projecting it.  The one exception is when creating a section view-- Inventor automatically creates the sketch and projects geometry to constrain it.

I'd be interested to see a video showing how this is routinely done in 2017 (or any other version).
