Lifting analysis

I have a situation where i wish to analise what the maximum deflection is in a pipe being lifted at two points. Also what the stresses are regarding the safety factor and whether any distortion would be permanent etc etc.

The problem is setting the perameters for the analysis, where or what constraints need to be used, does inventor allow for the self weight of the unit, can a 1.5 or 2 g factor be used.

TTached is a sketch to show the problem.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi,

It seems that you have to create two more component to fix the hose in the position, for example, the hose clamp. After that, try to add forces in your two holes as push forces with in Stress analysis module. Before the startup, please refer to the help for more details.

Stress Analysis

Hope it helps!

Hi! Yes, like Xun indicates here, you can do it in Inventor Stress Analysis. And, yes you can specify gravity greater than 1g and you can define any gravity you want. If this is a school assignment, please talk to your teacher or teaching assistant first. Here are a few informative videos about Stress Analysis created by Inventor experts

Best wishes,

Many thanks!

Thanks Xun

I think thats the way forward is to constrain at the point of lifting and let the mass of the object do the rest.

Gravity can be changed to 1.5 g or greater to simulate snatch loading/lifting.
