left mouse click menu on feature appears, but does not respond

When editing an model it is really convienient to click on a feature with the left mouse button somewhere on the model, then the left-mouse-click-menu opens, see this image:

The buttons to: edit extrude, edit sketch, share sketch, make sketch visible or create finish

do not highlight or respond after hovering over or clicking on them.

A weird issue is that this behaviour happens a lot but not always.

specs: Windows 11, Autodesk Inventor 2025 Professional

Here a video of where I first edit the sketch via the left-mouse-button-menu without any problems. Then I run into a unresponsive- left- mouse-button menu multiple times.

Any ideas?

Hi!

I don't see anything odd...

Do you mean when you click in the fillet?!

If so, it's the normal behaviour... the tool will open the options in context with the faces you click.
If you are clicking in a based sketch feature, you will be able to edit the feature, the sketch and if the face is planar, you can start a new sketch.
If you click in a fillet, you can edit the fillet, but there's no sketch associated to the fillet, so doesn't make sense to appear the option "edit sketch" (what sketch?!), and as the face is not planar, you cant start a new sketch.

For example: If you try it in a chamfer you will have similar options as the fillet, but... you will have the "new sketch" option , since the face it's planar:

Hi! Are you using dual monitors? Please make sure the resolution and scale on both are the same.

Right-click on Inventor desktop icon -> Properties -> Compatibility -> check "Run as Admin" -> click "Change High DPI settings -> check both boxes.

May thanks!

Amazing, your solution resolved my issue.

Yes, i am using dual monitors setup, the resolution and scale are different. I have now set the resolution and scale for both monitors to 1920 x 1080 and 100% scale.

Right-click on Inventor desktop icon -> Properties -> Compatibility -> check "Run as Admin"

(on my machine the check mark is called "Run this program as an adminstrator", left on the image below) the option was not checked, I've checked it now.

Same goes for the two check boxes under the "Change high DPI settings", which you can see on the right.

I found that the different resolutions does not affect this issue. So I can set the resolution of my second monitor back to 3840 x 2160.

The scaling however should be 100% for both monitors, if one of both displays has scaling other than 100%, the issue of a non-responsive left-button-click-menu emerges.

Hi

I have the same problem with Inventor 2025. When I click left mouse, the menu appears in the wrong position of the screen.  This error only occurs on the second monitor, which has different settings, and it only helps if I set the same resolution on both monitors. This problem does not exist in older versions. I hope they solve this problem with an update.

Note that the resolution does not affect the issue. The scaling should be 100% on both monitors.

Hi

You are right, I tried to set both screens to 100% and the icons appear in the right place, there are no such problems in the old versions. I hope they will fix this issue.

FYI, you can make the second screen your main display. That's how I fix this issue on mine.
