Left click and drag with mouse produces selection box instead of moving parts in assembly

Hello,

I must have pressed a button that changed my selection properties in Inventor. When I go to move a part in an assembly that is unground and unconstrained, my mouse only creates a selection box instead of actually grabbing and moving the part. When I opened up a different assembly file the problem did not persist. Any ideas on what button I pressed or what setting I have to change? Thanks

So I relaunched Inventor and the ability to click and drag parts went back to normal. However, I'm still curious as to what key I need to press to reverse this in the future should it happen again.

Likely just a selection filter was enabled that you weren't aware of....

Okay, that must have been it. I wasn't aware that was where the selection filters were. I switched to Inventor from Solidworks pretty recently, so haven't quite located all of the features yet. Thanks for the help!

You can also get to the selection filters with Shift Right Mouse button.

Thank you for letting me know the hotkey. I am certain that I inadvertently activated the filter by doing this as I tend to move a bit too quickly.

Hi! I am trying to reproduce the behavior but I cannot seem to do it. One thing you may want to check is the mouse. I had a bad mouse (sticky buttons). It exhibited the same behavior before. When I left-clicked, it seemed to right-click also, leading to a lot of confusion. I thought it was Win 10 related. A new mouse fixed the issue.

Many thanks!
