Hi Yannick,

This type of behavior is probably geometry related. For some reason, Inventor got confused by which model edge corresponds to the selected view edge. Open the part and go to Manage -> Rebuild All, update the assembly, and go to the drawing. Does it work better then?

Many thanks!

Hi @johnsonshiue

Thanks for getting back to me

Unforunately rebuilding both the skeleton and the single part as well as updating the assembly doesn't produce a different result

I've seen it before, but never had a clear reason for it.  Seems like for me, it always pops up when I don't have time to investigate and need to get something finished.

Hi Yannick,

Then I need to see the files. Please zip up the assembly and share it with me directly johnson.shiue@autodesk.com.

Many thanks!

Hi @johnsonshiue

I sent it again. It takes up 16 mb - I hope that isn't a problem.

Hi Yannick,

Our email system allows up to 50MB attachment. You had sent me files before. But, for some reason, I am not seeing an email from you. Please resend it or share it on a cloud drive of your choice and grant access to me johnson.shiue@autodesk.com.

Many thanks!

Okay, I sent you an autodesk drive link.

I attempted to PM it to you, but for some reason I cannot use the message system here. I have reached my limit of messages, despite not having sent any since 2018...

Hi Yannick,

Many thanks for sharing the files! I took a quick look at the drawing. Without disclosing the proprietary information, I can share some findings here.

I cannot explain the behavior. There is some sort of geometry ID mix-up. It should have worked fine. The only way to clear it is to set the view to Raster (Make View Raster) and then set it back to Precise (Make View Precise). After that the leader text can be attached to the edge properly.

I will work with the project team to understand it better. However, I suspect this is geometry specific and it could be fairly difficult to find a general fix.

Many thanks!
