JIC Thread

Does any one have any ideas on how to model a JIC Thread with inventor. I can model the physical geometry but not sure on how I should do the thread feature. If anyone else has done this can you please give me some pointers or any ideas would be helpful.

I think it may be a two part approach.

Step 1: Draw the thread flared end and the major diameter of the thread and do the undercut at the back.

Step 2: Create a custom thread feature and add it to the thread spreadsheet and add the feature to the thread face

Fitting information below

Thanks, Matt.

JIC use standard threads: UNF and UN.

Model the fitting and use thread feature.

Model the port and tap the hole.

You could create iFeature for the port.

Thanks Frederic, you wouldn't happen to have a link to the port dimensions?
I can't seem to find any good detailed info on this online.

Looks like JIC has to fit into another fitting.  You'll need an adapter to fit it into another port: NPT, SAE, O-Ring Boss etc.

The wiki you linked has a link to Parker fittings.  You can see which one you can use.  I believe Parker and other has model for their fittings.

Thanks again for your help, I'll just have to find the full dimensional standard for this standard and use that.

Thanks, Matt.
