Item Nr bound to parts

I have a main assmebly with 100 lines in my partlist.

I need a 2nd plan with only some of the parts, so I created a "view representation". The view representation is displayed nicely on my 2nd drawing, but it uses the same item numbers as in my main assembly. This might be come in handy, but I wanted to renumber the lines in my reduced partlist, with a result that the item numbering in my main assembly was screwed up too.

Can't this be individually?

Hi! Unfortunately, this is a limitation right now. If you want to renumber the items, you will need to save the assembly as another assembly and change the item numbers there. Using Design View Rep filter only allows the quantity to be calculated based on the Design View but the item numbers are still the same.

Many thanks!

Hi! Inventor is a tool of choice. I don't understand what you meant by "no-go." If it does not work for you, you should consider using a different tool. You should not be forced to use something not working for you. As long as you use Inventor, we are here to help. Regarding the explanation to your question, I have explained in detail in another similar thread.
