Issue with Collaborate Shared Views Inventor 2021

Anonymous
Not applicable

In my main Assembly, I have included two of the same sub-assemblies, however, I have selected a different representation for both of them. When I go to share the view online whichever sub-assembly is lower in the assembly model hierarchy will inherit the same representation as the other sub-assembly.

mainAssembly

    -  sub-assembly : 1 (represent1)

    -  sub-assembly : 2 (represent2)

Hi,

Thank you for reporting this problem, we logged it into our issue tracking system, internal ID INVGEN-41371.
The current workaround is to create Substitude LOD for your current assembly, then try shared view again.

This is more then just the "Collaborate Shared" option. This problem is there without even sharing.

Could you share more detail about your workflow?

I was changing the position of 6 parts in an assembly. I did make modification to the sheet metal parts before changing the positions. I saved the two different view points but it would not record the changed positions. After taking a break (shutting down computer) and coming back it would then record the new positions.

Hi,
Maybe I didn't get it right, do you mean you created two Position representation in your assembly which didn't work right away?
Could you provide some data, snapshot or video to show your workflow?

These are the sheet metal parts I was working with. I was making consent changes to my slots and angles. After a few changes and then trying to save the position view (did not save).

Hi,

Could you share us your dataset? Attach a simple video about how I do it, it looks good in my side.

I've gone back and played a bit more. THERE is a problem. I did find that it was referring to a much bigger assembly. When I removed this assembly from the large assembly, I could create new positions only after removing the older ones. Another assembly should not over ride another assembly when its not even open. This is a problem when making drawings of the sub assemblies that contain dim's related to positions that will not record properly.
