Hello @Anonymous,

This is a great idea, it's better to submit to ideastation.

Could you kindly help explain a little bit about the background here?

Thanks!

When I create the model presentation in drawing mode I use a bill of materials from model to open each parts and assemblies... so when I want to make a base view i dont have to look for the parts or assembly in the folder. And i am sure i had dimensioned all parts. I just want to have the bill of materials open permanent on my second monitor so I can easly control where is the part and easly place the right part in the drawing presentation. Is very dificult to find the right part with specific name from the folder with 1000 files. Also every time the bill of material close itselve i have to find the position again. List of materials is also very good for editing the parts names (Inventor 2017).

Hi! This is indeed a very interesting idea. I do see the need, since I use BOM dialog to manage components more than the browser. BOM offers much more information in a tabular form.

Many thanks!

+1

In the same go, make it also to stay open in the assembly environnement. Good use for a second monitor.
