Is it posible to make the cross cut lines thicker?

So in our work its normal to make the section where the cut is made thicker.

Recently we switched from 3 different software packets to 1 and in inventor I can't figure out how to do this.

So what I want is to make the lines I highlighted in red thick, see pictures in the attachments, like in a different layer so I can control the line weight.

I hope I explained myself right.

Hi

If the problem is with a disposable file, double click on the hatch area (line) and you will see the hatch editor. There you can freely change the width of the lines, but also their style or intensity.

I don't believe there is an automated way to do this.  The problem is that in the Object Defaults style, there is not a separate item for Section View Visible Lines.

So you will have to do this by selecting the lines and changing them to a different layer, and do this for each section view, every time you place one.

I'm not sure I understand, in de the hatch editor I can only change the hatch lines itself and not the boundary lines of the hatch. those are the lines I want to thicken. but maybe I'm looking over it?

@marcel.coufreur

Attach example files here.

You should be able to change as desired.

From your problem description I interpreted that you ONLY want to change the cut boundary in this view (not the other views and not the cross-hatch thickness).  (If you want to also change the cross-hatch thickness - post back.)

Select the lines that you want to change.

Go to Properties.

Increase the Thickness. (or you could set up a custom layer and change that)

If you have a lot of lines to change and selection is a chore...

...then in that case first Hide the cross-hatch...

Window or crossing-window select the lines you want to change (be careful not to select the view boundary or dimensions - anything other than the lines). Change the Properties as shown previously.

Double click on the view and turn the Hatching visibility back on.

Or, you could turn the visibility of the Hatch layer on/off (must have something selected in the view - can be anything).

All of this should be pretty straightforward.

Yes it's pretty straightforward, I ques I just hoped there was a way to automate this. Obviosity Inventor Knows what is being cut and what is in de background of the cut. So I don't understand why these are not different line types that can be edited (ones in style manager). In Solid works Its one Checkbox to make these lines thicker(for example).
But thx for help, And sorry for the late answer I was flooded with work.

What standard are you using? ISO? ANSI/ASME?

Hi

These are the edges of the view. You can change their style using style and standards editor -> layers -> visible.

The downside is that you will set the thickness of all visible edges this way.
