*.IPT to *.STP converter?

Hi all

I need to convert a lot of Inventor *.IPT files (about 1600) into STEP files. Is there a program or so that can do it for me, or do I need to do it the hard way where I open all the files and "save copy as" *.stp?

Your help on this topic would be most appreciated!

Kind regards
Dennis Thøgersen. Denmark.

You could write a macro and use Kent's KWiKBatch program.

Have you tried using the Task Scheduler?

Thanks for the fast reply. I'm pretty new in inventor, so i don't really know what you mean. I know what a macro is, but I dont know how to make it, and I have never used or seen Kent's KWiKBatch program. Could you please describe how it could be done ?

regards.

use the task scheduler that comes with Inventor.

Look under "all Programs"> autodesk>inventor 2008(or 11 or 10) >tools>"task scheduler" under the drop down menu go to export files.

Hi Dennis

Instead of crossing the River for Water (a Danish Idiom which translates
really badly!) - I would suggest you take a look at Task Scheduler, which is
already installed on your machine.

Go to: Start\All Programs\Autodesk\Inventor xxxx\Tools\Task Scheduler.
In the pulldown menus select Create Task - Export Files
Here I suggest you Press F1 to get help for selecting Project, Files or
Folder (the 3 small Icons), type of files to export and where to locate
them.
Below you select when you want to run the task and which options you need to
be setup. When ready click OK.

After the Task is done - you can create a report by right clicking on the
Task- and you can select only to see errors.

I hope this can get you started

Hi Uffe and others.

Thank you very much for your help! I'm working with the task manager right now, and it seems that it's just the solution I've been looking for!

Kind regards
Dennis
