Inventor Vault recreating folders

Hi,

I have one issue with Inventor Vault file save locations

I am creating new file (ipt and idw) in the below path

C:\Stewart_Vault\Designs\Engineering\Standard Drawings\03\DRAWINGS

When I 'check-in' this file through Inventor, Vault is creating another folder structure as mentioned below

C:\Stewart_Vault\Stewart_Vault\Designs\Engineering\Standard Drawings\03\DRAWINGS

Basically Vault is creating another folder 'Stewart_Vault' and recreating all folder down the line.

I am completely unaware how to solve this issue. Any help with the solution will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Rudresh

In your Vault Client (Admin has to control this).  Is a working folder enforced?   If so what is it set to?   Under Vault Client/Tools/Option select show working folder.  Next select Project Explorer, what does it state there?

In Inventor under the Vault ribbon tab, expand "Access" and select Map Folders, is the correct mapping there.

In the end you have something mis-aligned in the mappings between Inventor, your local workspace, and Vault.

Update:  One more thing..  Make sure your active project file has the correct location set for your local vault workspace and you have defined a workspace.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your reply..

I have attached project file picture. Can you please look at this? I did not see any problem..

I checked location for working folder in Vault it shows

C:\Stewart_Vault\Stewart_Vault\Designs\Engineering\Standard Drawings\03\DRAWINGS

But I created this part in the path: "C:\Stewart_Vault\Designs\Engineering\Standard Drawings\03\DRAWINGS". This is where the file supposed to be.

But I am surprising when I check-in this file (through Inventor), Vault showing different location.

The major problem I am facing is when I open assembly file (where this part is used), It is giving ERROR saying Assembly cant find that part.

Thanks

Rudresh

Project file looks ok..

That means the mappings on the Vault ribbon tab/Access/map folders is incorrect or the working folder definition under (Vault Client) Tools/Administrator/Vault is not set right.  Are you the Vault Admin?

Mark,

I am not Vault admin.

I will contact the admin to look into this issue. I think we may have to Install Inventor and Vault again..

Thanks

There's no need to install either one of these applications.  You just have some incorrect settings.  Smiley Wink
