[Inventor] Unable to weld simple folded sheet metal

Hi forum members, new to inventor (less than a month of using)

I seem to have challenges when using sheet metal especially when it comes to welding. It's always a hit or miss.

In this case, this particular folded sheet metal is not allowing me to use "groove" weld

Groove Weld requires a "Fill Direction" - and there isn't an edge or face on the model you can pick that would indicate the correct direction.  You can add a Work Axis by picking two vertices, then select the axis for Fill Direction.

Hi Natalie,
Technically - it is a fillet weld. I would use a backing plate to get the weld done. But a Groove weld seems to be delivering a better result for modeling.
There is no need for extra geometry to specify the weld direction. Selecting Full Face Weld option takes care of it.
I don't use Assembly Welds in my line of work. But just in this particular case - here is a quick sample of a welded part. IV2020 format.

Thanks @pcrawley  & @IgorMir  using the full face weld + groove worked perfectly!

Agree with @IgorMir  in practical terms its a fillet weld but doesn't when modelling on inventor, using groove for illustration purposes.
