Inventor Simulation Help - Fix a Node

Hello all,

I am working on running some simulations on a metal disc. I'd like to constrain the part in the Y axis (easily done with the fix command in vector form), and then fix one node in all 6 degrees of freedom (translational and rotational). How do I fix one node? The constraint options only apply to faces or edges. Thanks!

In the part file create a point and use that as the fixed node.

Hi,

For applying contraints, vertex/edge/faces are valid choices. So in order to fix a node, you will need to create a geometric vertex at the location where the fixed constraint needs to be applied. A vertex can be created by splitting a face (or any other geometric operation) if the vertex does not already exist. The meshing engine ensures that a node is always created at geometic vertex.

Thanks,
Ravi
