Say I have a 2x4 board that I want to put (2) screw holes in each end. I place one hole and would like to pattern array the remaining three holes so that when I insert a screw, I can copy the pattern to place all 4 screws... Is this possible?

Thanks.

If you're placing 2 holes at each end of 2x4 the direction of the hole would change at the other end of 2x4?  Or am I missing what you're trying to do?  Meaning you would have to pattern along a path.

Update..  When you say end..  Are you talking about the same face of the 2x4 (red arrow) or the actual ends of the 2x4 (purple arrow)

I guess I would technically need a circular pattern so that the hole faces the same way, but that creates other issues...

Either a Mirror feature or a rotary pattern.  What other issues does a rotary pattern create?

Edit: sorry, missed that you wanted to create one feature, then array for the other three.  How about create an arc sketch from the origin hole to the other end of the board and use that as one of your directions (essentially making a circular array for one direction?

I would use the circular pattern, if I could get come up with a qty/angle pattern that worked...

As far as I know, you can't copy pattern to place the screws with the mirror command.

Thanks Sam, but the holes are turned out the wrong direction on the opposite end... I think it's doing the same thing as a regular rectangle pattern.

Thanks Sam! that works... I had to use a sketch tangent constraint from the arc to the end of the board, and use direction-2 on the rectangle pattern. I appreciate your help.
