Inventor parts opening too small

Since I got 2017, Inventor has been opening the parts and assemblies with a "too-small" view.  Basically, it looks like it is opening all parts with the level of zoom that the file was at when it was first created, regardless of how large the part is.  Is there a way to have the part open with a fully "zoomed out" view?  I feel like this is a silly request, but it is really getting to me lately that nothing is the way I save it when I open it the next time.  I would like to see the complete part when I open it.  Otherwise, I always spend extra time zooming around to make sure I have the proper part, etc.  It was always that way before, did some setting get changed that I didn't realize?

Have you applied any updates/service packs/mid-year releases for Inventor 2017?

Also just to confirm..  Are all of these models created in Inventor 2017 or were they created in legacy versions of Inventor and now you are opening them in 2017?

Can you share one of the files exhibiting this behavior?

If you right click on the View Cube you should be able to set exactly how you want it to view the next time you open. (works for me)

The parts were all created in 2017.  All updates have been applied.  I usually keep up to date.  I started noticing this immediately when I loaded 2017, but never before.

I am attaching a  part which this happens to.

Using the "Fit to View" does not make a difference.

Still looking into why...   But I copied your extrusion to a new part file and it corrects the issue.  Meaning it will show the entire 72 inches or how it was saved the last time.

I didn't think to say, but this happens with my parts at work and at home on different computers.  Still acts the same.  I thought it was just the way Autodesk was shipping the product and I hadn't re-set some setting.

Hi smokyrickQUKPL,

Go to the Tools tab > Document Settings button > Modeling tab , and check the Initial View Extents settings.

I hope this helps.

Hi smokyrickQUKPL,

oops! I got a bit distracted and forgot the rest of that reply... I think if you set those values to zero, that will fix your issue.

I hope this helps.
