Hello. I have a problem :(.

How do I make a gap there, as shown?

Please attach your attempt at the ipt file and also include the version of Inventor you want..

 

In general though had you created your sketches constrained about the origin you simply needed to create a sketch on the origin plane and extrude (cut option).

Once you post your ipt file we can correct it and show you how it should be done..

 

Have you asked your teacher though for help? Surely they should be able to help you..

Thanks for attaching your part for review. Using Extrude Cut is the easiest way with what you already have done.

 

Here is a screencast showing a few tips using the model you supplied. 

 

 

Inspect the part attached by @TheCADWhisperer, it is the best way to go about it for simplicity.
