Hello,

Its that kind of plasma cutter:

I haven't used the Nesting Utility yet so I'm guessing.

It looks like the as-designed workflow is to generate a .dwg/DXF from the Nesting Utiltiy, then use the some other CAM tool (Inventor HSM, TruNest, Software from Plasma Cutter Vendor) to generate the tool paths.

See http://help.autodesk.com/view/TNNUINV/ENU/?guid=GUID-AE0A867C-C106-417A-8975-2AFF2DE8BB35

What is your intended workflow?

If you want to use Inventor HSM, I'd take a look here for the available posts: https://cam.autodesk.com/hsmposts

If they don't have what you need, try this link: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/hsm-post-processor-forum/hsm-post-adjustments-needed-find-your-right-...

Yep, Steve is exactly right. The Nesting Utility is responsible for building nest pattern(s). Those patterns can then be sent from NU into Inventor HSM for posting / NC code generation (or, some other CAM tool if needed).

Inventor HSM/Trunest for posting / NC code generation could be nice solution but as I said i cant find any post processor for MicroStep Mg plasma cutting machines.

Right now we are using software from microstep for nesting/generate nc code but its demo version and its almost expired.

I just thought that if we already have licenses for Autodesk Inventor(nesting utility included), we will be able to use it as nesting software and to generate nc code.

Can you help/guid me to create/modify the post on my own. This machine use .cnc files.

Regards Paul

I'm not going to be much help with modifying a post-processor.

Try the HSM forums here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/hsm/ct-p/213  There should be some people who can help point you in the correct direction.

Or follow the third link (in my first post on this thread) to see what options are available to get a custom post written.
