Inventor Model will not show up on drawing when section is on.

Hello All,

Here is what is going on. I have a drawing that has been perfectly fine up until now. One of the parts in the assembly had a hole feature moved to the 180° position. In doing such, I rotated it 180° in the assembly. Opening the drawing, I get an error message:

Some Components could not be processed properly resulting in a view that may not be accurate.

The attempted Cut View operation resulted in some problems while processing IPXXXXXX-01.ipt;. Problematic components are excluded from the cut.

The model excluded is a spring with Section Participation on. When I change the Participation to None, the error messages go away. I get no errors in the assembly itself.

I have tried replacing the model with itself. I have tried different view representations. I have tried recreating the view with a new view. All of these things will not cause the spring to show up, only turning the section participation to none.

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

Autodesk Inventor 2012.

I am having the same problem. I also have an angle constraint on an assembly and I am getting the exact same error message.

Error Message:

Suppress Components: problems encountered while executing this command.
Some components could not be processed properly resulting in a view that may not be accurate.
The attempted Cut View operation resulted in some problems while processing DB178413.ipt;DB243517.ipt;. Problematic components are excluded from the cut.

Hi alexmende,

Can you post the files, so someone can have a look? I think this will be difficult to determine what the issue is without a file set.

Also, don't forget to mention which version of Inventor you're using.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

I'd be happy to send the files privately to somebody on the Inventor team.

Thanks for the reply Curtis.

Hi alexmende,

Depending on your support options, you might be able to start a ticket with Autodesk Support, and they can provide a FTP site or something similar if it's a large file set.

If you can strip the assembly down to just the problem file so that you're not sharing IP, then maybe you could attach it here and someone could take a look. If you can't do that due to IP concerns, that's understandable. Maybe just some screen shots of the part would help, if that's possible? That might be enough for someone to identify the issue with the part geometry or something?

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

FYI.. This is a peer to peer (actually users that don't work for Autodesk) forum..

Actual Autodesk employees do come around every once in a while though..

I was able to track down the issue to a single motor. Here's the example file with the error. Toggle between Section Participation between None and Section to see the error. Doesn't seem to have any relation to the angle mate I previously specified.
