Hi there all,
I have a question but not sure if something like this is possible, still going to take a chance though...
So we all know when you have placed an base view of an Assembly in a IDW drawing, and then and go add parts to that assembly, big parts especially, then your drawing view is going to adapt so it can display those changes. Now because of this, the drawing view sometimes moves/expands.
The issue is now, if you have text right next to a view on a certain area, that text will no longer line up with the drawing in the way you originally attended...
So my question is this : Is there a way to lock the drawing view or a line within the drawing view to keep the model from moving? This is all so that the text can stay aligned to certain area's in the assembly.
Now I know that when using leader text it will stay attached and spaced away the same as it originally was, but I specifically want a way to keep the plain text in the same location
A weird request I know, but some input on this will be appreciated
Thanks in advance

Hi! I have heard about the requests. This is about fixing a view in drawing sheet. The issue here is that when the 3D model is changed, the associative view border can change. Then, what would the reference be? There is an option you might consider using. Go to Tools -> Application Options -> Drawing -> Justification -> change it to Fixed. It may help anchor the views at the same location.
Many thanks!

Hi there @johnsonshiue,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I have tried changing the Justification of the drawing to fixed, but when adding parts to the assembly the drawing view still moves.
I have gone and submitted an idea under the forum, will have to wait and see now if they accept and implement it
