Inventor frozen after locking Windows

Recently moved to a new PC which came with Windows 11. Ever since Inventor keeps freezing completely after locking the computer (for lunch for example) and after login in again it wont do anything at all. Have to kill it using task manager. Never experienced this on my previous rig running 10. Running the latest 2024.3 version. Was running that same update for about a week on that previous rig without any issue (besides the normal ones.).

Anyone experiencing the same?? Or hopefully even a solution to stop this?? Becoming rather anoying...

Pt.2: Same issue applies when no files are open at all. Main interface does not respond, home view allows for interaction when recent files but selecting open does not do anything after that.

Hi! I am wondering if it could be licensing related. When you lock the computer, does the network go down? Does it the hang happens if you unlock the machine immediately afterwards?

Many thanks!

I just tried locking and unlocking immediately, no issue so far. Also no difference with a slight delay in between. Don't see any indication that the connection goes down when locking. Might be when

So I just modified some power settings for the network adapter to check if that has any effect, will report back when I know more.

Worst part, just spoke to my colleague who is using my old pc and he is now also experiencing this issue. Windows 10 with the latest 2024.3.

Hi! Since you have installed 2024.3, your Autodesk License Manager should be up-to-date already. Just in case it was not installed properly. Here is a link to the install. Please try it out and report back if there is any behavioral change.

So far no luck sadly, re-installed the License Manager like sugested but still random freezes. Had a Teams call for 5 minutes and all of the sudden it was frozen again. Cant figure out what triggers it, cause the only common factor so far is inactivity in Inventor itself... Even when fully active on the pc with other programs.

Next step I'm trying now is copying all data used in Inventor to my local drive (For those that were on a network drive, got a bunch of shared Design Data and Textures etc.) and giving that a shot. Starting to wonder if recent changes there are causing issues when trying to access those.

Hi! Just pure speculation, could it be related to energy-saving policy on the machine? My next suggestion is to install Microsoft Process Monitor and record a log of Inventor.exe (filter out other processes). The log may show what exactly happen during the freeze.

Many thanks!

Somehow it went away, was not able to find anything that triggered any changes so maybe an issue with a windows update that quietly has been fixed in the background by now.
