Inventor Freezes When Opening STEP Files

Autodesk Inventor Professional 2011

It freezes when I try to open a STEP file, even one I just created.

Any ideas?

Jason

Turn off the Option to create html report and try again.
(this has worked on some installs)

Hi J.Gibson,

Thanks for your report!

Please also try to turn off "Save Components during Load", "Check Parts during Load" and "Enable Advanced Healing" options in STEP Import Options dialog box. If still reproduce your problem, would it be possible to send the STEP file to Hongyuan.Li@autodesk.com ? We will validate and give a solution for it.

In responce to JDMather:

Can you point me to where that option is?

In responce to Kevin Li:

Those options are already "un-checked"

Also, it does not matter what the model is.  It will freeze on any STEP file.  It can be an imported one from McMaster Carr.com, a customer file or even a STEP file I just created from my own model.

As indicated in my first post - turning off the report is under Options - see attached image
