Inventor freezes when editing text

Hi all,

I'm a resident at the Autodesk Technology Center on Pier 9 and my team has been using Autodesk Revit & Inventor for a little while now.

My designer has recently been facing technical issues with Inventor. Specifically, Inventor freezes when adding/editing text call outs, when editing parts list tables (whether directly or in separate window), when editing title blocks. It doesn't give any error message, it just freezes and then comes back, usually without crashing. It can last as little as 5 seconds, or sometimes up to an hour, with average freezing time of about 2 minutes.

Do you have any advice? Or anyone you can help refer me to?

Hi Candice,

The behavior does not sound right to me. A few things I would check first.

- Make sure all critical Windows updates, the latest graphics driver, and all critical PC vendor updates are installed.

- Use Windows Disk Cleanup to remove all cached files.

- Install the latest Inventor update to your Inventor release.

- Go to Windows Display settings and select the recommended resolution and scale.

- Right-click on Inventor desktop icon -> Properties -> Compatibility -> check "Run as admin" -> click "Change High DPI settings" -> check both boxes.

Is this behavior specific to a drawing or any drawing?
