Inventor freeze and design screen grey

Hello,

Last week i was using Inventor perfectly. Suddenly, two days ago, my inventor would launch normally but it would not open any parts or drawings. It would just open the "My Home" tab and a tab for my part name. Everything in the "My home" tab works just fine.  Clicking the tab of my part will open it and show all the navigation panels, however the middle screen where the design is created and shown, appears completely grey. I can left click, right click and the menu appears, but no image is shown, only grey with some part of the "My Home" screen.

Someone might have a solution for this? I can not open my past designs nor create a new one since the same thing happens.
This is an image of the issue. image.png

Have you had any upgrades or changes to your system recently?  Are your video drivers and SP's up to date?

This will reregister Inventor, you will need to change the year to match your year of Inventor.

Re-Register Inventor

  1. open a command prompt as administrator
  2. type :"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2018\Bin\Inventor.exe" /install
  3. Wait for about 30 seconds & then retry Inventor

Inventor 2020, In-Cad, Simulation Mechanical

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

Yes, all my drivers and pc are up to date.
My laptop is an Acer R15. I can play any game out there. Inventor has been working perfectly in my laptop up to the past few days. Windows 10 had an upgrade on the weekend. I dont know if that might be the issue, but everything is up to date.

If you had an update over the weekend, that could possibly be the issue.  Just for kicks, I would try rolling back the update and see if that fixes things.

I would definitely advise rollback, windows often messes up other software, unless it's crucial roll back, I have found it to work in the past, despite all the annoyance it can cause.

Hello,

The problem happened in my end with remote connection sometimes, it seems related with Graphic card driver.

Go to Application option -> Hardware, check on Software graphics and restart Inventor.

Hope it helps!

Just out of curiosity what hardware does your laptop contain, if inventor is having to page to Virtual Ram that may explain, or if anything is runnign in the back ground
