Inventor Frame Generator Mass Not Updating

I've got an assembly in which the mass for the frame generator created model will not update.  I've tried rebuild all, recalculate mass, closing, opening, rebooting, etc.  WHen I open the frame generator model it has a mass.  When I check its mass in the main assembly there is nothing.  Any help?

Hi Jared,

It is hard to tell where the exact problem is without see the actual files. Go to browser and right-click on the frame subassembly -> BOM Structure. Is it set to Reference or Default?

Many thanks!

Yes, it was set to Reference.  I changed it to Default and the mass is updating now.  Thanks for the help.

Do you know of an easy way to have the frame generator assembly appear on the drawing as reference yet still show the correct mass?  Is the only way to do this to change the component properties in the drawing view?

Hi Jared,

You want to show the frame as reference component in drawing. Let me ask you a question. Do you just want to show it in dashed line or you don't want the frame appear in PartsList in drawing? To keep the "reference" component behavior in Drawing, you can simply go to the browser and find the frame sub -> right-click -> Properties -> change the line type to dashed line. For PartsList, you can hide the frame row.

Many thanks!

Yes that is what I ended up doing, changing the properties in the drawing view.

Thanks
